What is Brick Repointing?

Repointing is the process of removing deteriorated mortar from the joints between bricks or stones and replacing it with fresh mortar. Over time, mortar breaks down due to weathering, freeze-thaw cycles and general wear. Left untreated, failing mortar allows water to penetrate the wall, leading to damp, structural movement and costly repairs.

A well-executed repointing job restores the structural integrity of the wall, improves weatherproofing and enhances the appearance of the property. It is one of the most cost-effective ways to protect a building and extend its lifespan significantly.
